Penrite Cam Assembly Lube
Cam Assembly Lube is a special purpose sticky paste with a grease basis that is intended for the initial lubrication of engine parts during the assembly process. It comprises rust inhibitors, oxidation inhibitors, tackiness additives, zinc, and graphite anti-wear compounds that give excellent engine lubrication protection before and during the first start of new or refurbished engines.
Application
Cam Assembly Lube is recommended for the initial lubrication of engine components during assembly. Camshaft lobes, followers, journals, camshaft and crankshaft bearings, pushrod tips, rockers, bushes, gears, thrust bearings, and timing chains are among the things listed.
Cam Assembly Lube is applied directly to moving or stationary surfaces that come into touch with other moving surfaces that would typically be lubricated with engine oil once the oil pressure is set. Only a light film of product is required, so use sparingly. Following the first start, the substance evaporates into the engine lubricant.
Cam Assembly Lube offers initial hydrodynamic lubrication and creates a lubricant barrier between moving components. It can endure loadings of more than 200,000 psi, providing a superb film of protection against tremendous pressure and shock loads from the motor.
Cam Assembly Lube contains a sticky ingredient that efficiently adheres to surfaces as the engine is being built, providing significantly improved initial lubrication over ordinary engine oil, which can flow off the parts during assembly.
Cam Assembly Lube has also been used successfully in ancient engines with exposed valves and valve springs to guard against rust and corrosion when the vehicle is not in use.
Note: It should not be used on pistons since the graphite may impede the bedding process.
