The new Burtz cylinder block is built of the same modern grey iron alloy used in current production engines. The new (included) Block, Crankshaft, and Connecting Rods are re-engineered for strength and longevity and produced at a modern plant that supplies OEM engine parts to numerous manufacturers.

Laser scanning ensures that the exterior is identical to an original cylinder block. Ford drawing A-6015 was used to confirm that all surfaces and hole positions are equivalent to an original cylinder block, allowing original or new aftermarket parts to be used in the assembly process.

The inside resembles a modern engine, with 5 replaceable main and camshaft bearings, 16 pressure lubricated bearings, 2-inch diameter main bearings, big, streamlined intake ports, hard exhaust valve seats, and an off-the-shelf radial lip rear main seal.
